During our trip to Texas we went to the Dallas Zoo. It was extremely hot but so much fun. In the kids play area they had a huge fountain for the kids to play in. I think the boys would have played in it all day.

In June the boys and I took a trip to Texas. I had not seen my nephew Ryan since Christmas. He is 10 months old now and a very happy baby ready to play. He really enjoyed playing with Kaden and Karson while we were there.

I have been enjoying this summer with my boys so much that I haven't posted all the end off the school year things and all the fun things we have been doing. The last week of school Karson's class had a end of the year program. Karson really enjoyed his school and is looking forward to going back when school starts.

The Rangers were here in KC playing the Royals on Tim's Birthday. A big thank you to Joe Gabbard for getting the tickets. It was a great game even though the Rangers Lost. The neat thing about the Kaufman Stadium is you can bring in all the water and food you can fit into a bag. I packed a feast hotdogs, peanuts, chips, and candy. I do love that at this stadium.

Mother's Day weekend started with breakfast just Kaden and myself at his school then Kaden gave me a tour of his school and gave me a Mother's Day craft he made in class. All other pictures of this event could not be included due to tired eyes.

Karson has been working on potty training. Sometimes more than others. Once he met his first goal he knew what he wanted he has been eyeing this ride since we moved here.

He had this smile on his face the whole ride.

Monday Kaden came home with his first loose tooth. He has been waiting for a loose tooth for a long time. Tuesday he came home from school upset and complaining about neck pain. Thursday I turned the big Three-O and I spent the day exactly how I wanted like any other day but with a few special treats. I spent the morning working on my to-do list. Then had lunch with Ronnin, Karson, and Justus and enjoyed some low fat frozen yogurt at Yogurtini with Ronnin and Katie.

Friday morning I woke up at 3am and went downtown to Union Station here in KC to the Royal Wedding watch party with a group of friends. Union Station also has a Princess Dianna exhibit which features her wedding dress. I loved every minute of it!

When Kaden came home from school his tooth was almost out and with a little encouragement he pulled it out.

Before bed Friday night Kaden complained about neck pain. I gave him some motrin before bed which seemed to help. Saturday morning he was crying about how much pain he was in and also had a fever. I called his doctor's office and told the on call nurse about his symptoms. She advised me to go to a urgent care. Went to urgent care and was sent to Childrens Mercy hospital. The Dr at Childrens Mercy felt a large lump in his neck and noticed a head tilt and was concerned that he might have a tumor, staph infection or abscess that would need surgery. I had Karson with me and the doctor told me to call my husband and have someone pick up Karson because this could be serious. They did a strep test first. I was walking in the hall with Karson after Tim came and the doctor stoped me and said I was really hoping for strep this isn't good. A few doctors came in and asked us if we had any history of Lymph node disorders. After the CT scan and labs were done he was diagnosed with a infected lymph node which was the lump with swelling. He was put on a 7 day dose of antibiotics. I hadn't noticed the lump or swelling before the ER visit but when we got home Tim had me look at his neck and thats when I saw the swelling.

This morning was his follow up appointment. The doctor had the report from Childrens Mercy and then checked Kaden out and said that all the swelling was gone and the lump from the report is not there anymore and that his antibiotics worked really fast. Kaden went back to school and is playing outside right now.

Update on Karsee. He loves school ! I recently had our first goal meeting with his teacher and speech therapist. When Karson started school in February he was at a 15% accuracy in his articulation and is now at 55%. The whole meeting was good news and his teacher said he is the sweetest little guy. I'm enjoying each new word and phrase. He is like a sponge right now asking what everything is.

A new healthy find. I love to have this for breakfast. It is only 70 calories and very filling. Each one makes 2 smoothies and is only 70 calories per serving made with skim milk. Ive been working out and eating better for 6 weeks and I'm down 5 pounds!

Yes I will admit I have dragged my feet on the potty training journey with Karson. He was almost potty trained when we moved to KC but regressed after the move. A few weeks ago I decided it was time to face it. He is just about potty trained now. My SIL Ronnin helped me make this potty chart for Karson. All I can take credit for is the numbers because my drawing skills do not exist. When I say Karson its time to potty train he says "poppy train choo choo". Every day he goes accident free he gets a sticker after every 10 he gets a treat like ice cream or candy.

I have been making better food choices and working out. I found these a few weeks ago. I love chocolate and really enjoy Girlscout Thin Mints these mini delights are the closest thing I have found to thin mints. I can have one serving of these for a quick snack and it doesn't mess up my daily allowed Fat grams.

Kaden's report card came in and he did a great job. For his reward I took him out for frozen yogurt. Orange Leaf is a self serve frozen yogurt place. You pick the flavor then add any topping you want.

Karson has been asking to ride the bus so I set it up for him to ride the bus to school a couple of times a week. The day of his first bus ride Karson stood at the door saying "School bus where are you?". He was so excited about riding the bus we went outside to play and wait for the bus.

The bus came and Karson was so excited he put his backpack on and then got on the bus. The bus driver encouraged me to come on and see the car seats. Right when Karson got on and looked around panic set in. I don't see this side of Karson very often he is a couragous little guy most of the time. After 10 min of encouraging and Kars attached to me like glue I decided to just take him to school myself. I apologized to the bus staff but they wanted to try again after school. All the way to school Karson said "Mommy no school bus I wanna ride with you". When it was time for Karson to get out of school I kept my phone close. I got the call from Karson's teacher that he didn't want to ride the bus. I picked him up from school and decided to cancel the whole bus deal. I didn't even want him riding the bus since we live so close to the school but if he wanted to I was willing to let him try so I had no problem canceling it.

The boys had some spending money burning a hole in their pockets. Tim and I took them to Target to do some shopping and for Slurpee's. The day was so nice today so I unpacked, organized and went through the boys summer cloths and am so relieved the boys are pretty set on cloths and just needing a couple of things (mainly Kaden the boy will not stop growing). After dinner we went to the park.

Spring Break is over and it was fun. We are almost back to normal the boys have been extra tired this week. Just a couple of days until the weekend.

On St. Patricks day the Westport area of KC has a parade that goes right in front of our new location. CreativeCommunity.tv gave away free bottled water, free balloons, and free art projects for kids. This was our first outreach. It was so exciting to see our new location packed with people. I dressed the boys in green and we spent most of the day at creativecommunity.tv till the boys got really grumpy and we went home. They had a long week of fun so they were really tired.

We went to Kaleidoscope at Crown Center today.

The boys colored in a room where everything glowed and made and designed their own puzzles and did I mention it was free.

When we were done there we went to the crayola store and the boys created some more art.

Crown Center is one of my favorite places here in KC.

We ate lunch at Gates. Best KC BBQ!

After lunch we went to Paradise Park. Kaden and Karson played in the Foam Factory and a round of mini golf hockey.

Karson would push the ball to the edge of the hole and hit it in then jump up and down saying "Oh yea oh yea I di it". So much fun to watch my boys play.

On the last hole Kaden made a true hole in one and won a free round of mini golf.

The last event for the day that I even joined in on was The Foam Factory.

After a long fun day Caleb stayed the night with Kaden and Karson. All three boys were asleep pretty fast. I have enjoyed the visit and will miss my family when they leave to go home tomorrow.

Our morning started out with a very excited little boy (Kaden) asking when our visitors would be here. Today was the day we have been waiting for and excited about for weeks. My cousin Christy, Mark, Christopher, Caleb, and Kevin were on their way to KC.

I started my day with a work out. Karson works out with me everyday.

The cousins arrived after lunch then we headed downtown to show them around KC and visited creativecommunity.tv's new space.

After dinner the boys enjoyed a movie, popcorn, and cookies.

Kevin and Christopher spent the night tonight. Christopher and Kevin were asleep in minutes and my boys were wide awake.

Looking forward to another fun day tomorrow.

I had plans to do something fun with the boys each day this week. But between Kaden's asthma flaring up and waking up to this

our plans changed to a snow day. Kaden and Karson were upset that bowling and spending the afternoon with friends at Crown Center downtown was canceled. So instead we had a Alvin and the Chipmunks movie day and then made pizza's tonight.

Kademan helped me roll out the dough. He went a little crazy with the flour.

The boys choose their own toppings. Kaden had olive pizza topped with more olives once it was cooked. Kademan loves olives.

Kaden also filled out his March Madness Bracket today. He has the Texas Longhorns and KU going to the finals with the final score Texas 99 and KU 1. He said Texas and KU are his favorite teams but he still likes the Texas Longhorns more. Tomorrow we have family coming to visit and some fun plans the next few days.

This winter we had to find ways to survive snow days with the boys stuck in the house all day. The Wii was used quite a bit and Kaden's goal was to stay in his PJ's as long as possible. The last snow day and hopefully it was our last was a few weeks ago. The boys put together some costumes.

Last year I was Kaden's room mom but this year I decided to just be a volunteer and enjoy the parties with Kaden. On Valentines day after Tim and I took Karson to school and had a Valentine lunch date I went to Kaden's party. The room moms this year have done a great job making the parties special. Each student brought a box for their valentine cards. The creative crafty side of me just didnt have time with Karson's surgery and recovery so I let Kaden pick out a box that included valentines at the store. Next year I will do the homemade thing. I got a ton of cute ideas from the party. I was also glad to see Kaden didn't have the only store bought box.

Yesterday was Karson's first day of school. The report from his teacher when I picked him up was he had a blast and is a charm to have in the class. I am so proud of my little guy he walked right into his class gave hugs and kisses and said goodbye. This morning when I dropped him off he looked so cute with his backpack on walking to his class.

Kaden came home wearing a reminder sticker for the Art and Literacy Fair at his school on Tuesday night. Kaden really wanted to go but I wasn't sure with Karson recovering if we would be able to. Kaden showed me those big brown puppy dog eyes and was almost in tears when I told him I wasn't sure if I would be able to go. Karson started feeling better yesterday and sounds so much better and getting his appetite back. He does have what I call the steroid grumpies but he should be over those soon.

With Karson feeling much better we attended the Art and Literacy Fair last night. I was glad we were able to and I really enjoyed it. There were different activities all over the school. Kaden enjoyed leading the way.

In the Art room there were art supplies and magazine clippings for the kiddos to work with.

I want to say how proud I am of Kaden. In December his teacher sent home a note that he was at a reading level 4 and at the end of January he needed to be a level 8. His teacher sent home a packet of books to read every night. Kaden has been reading every night. I got a letter yesterday from his teacher that he is now reading at a level 8 and that all his work at school and at home has paid off. Go Kaden!

Karson had his surgery on Friday. When we got there to check in and the nurse started checking his weight, blood pressure, and trying to put the red light thing on that checks his oxygen Karson got very upset but once we got into our Pre Op room he calmed down and enjoyed watching a Elmo video and playing leapster. When the nurse came in to take him back he went right to her and went into surgery. He is a tough little guy I am so proud of him. He was in surgery for 35 min. during the surgery he had a flare up and had to have a breathing treatment thankfully the staff was ready. After the surgery we got to go home pretty fast.

Karson has been resting well. He is still pretty croupy and sounds congested and also has had a fever. Hopefully he will be back to his playful self soon.

I am not looking forward to this day again but it is coming up again Friday. This is a picture of Karson right after he had his last set of tubes put in. I have been debating if I should post about Karson's upcoming surgery and have decided to write about it I think it will even help me with the loads of information Im still trying to process.

Karson will be having his second set of tubes put in and adenoids removed because his last set fell out too early and he has had fluid in his ear canals since at least December. There is a risk of croup/asthma flare up happening during or after surgery due to the anesthesia but we have met with the anesthesiologist and they are prepared for the airway problems that may occur but im still pretty nervous about sending my son in for the surgery but im very pleased with the childrens hospital and the staff too and since he has these risks his ENT moved his surgery to the hospital and not the day surgery center so the area cheif ENT will be doing the surgery. Thats good news right?

When Karson was evluated by the ENT for this set of tubes he wanted to scope his nose and airways (not a pleasant experience for Karson) to determine if he needed his adenoids removed he wanted to check his airways as well because of his chronic airway trouble. He found that Karson was born with extra tissue on his vocal cords called Laryngomalacia (Floppy Vocal Cords). The strangest thing is it usually is common in infants but Karson didn't have any signs of this until he started having chronic croup/asthma flare ups. The way I understand it is that his airway flare ups and Laryngomalacia are not a good mix. His case is mild but he will need to be monitored and eventually may have to have surgery to correct the problem if he keeps having flare ups or wieght loss.

Karson has had some permanent hearing loss with all this and we will know in a few weeks how much and the extent of it. Through all of this he has had speech therapy for the past year. He was diagnosed with speech sound disorder due to his hearing loss and after this surgery we will find out how much his hearing has improved and if he will need some extra help with a device in a few weeks. He will start a language class with a curriculum based around his speech needs and hearing loss with 2-3 speech sessions a week after he recovers from his surgery this month.

In some ways I feel like we are starting over with this battle but when I step back and look he has made tremendous progress over the past year and with this new plan and his hearing improved should see great results.

We have enjoyed the snow days this week so far Kaden will be enjoying his third day off from school tomorrow due to the weather. On Monday we bundled up the boys and took them sledding. Karson loved going down on the sled and Kaden went back out a second time with Tim to sled down some bigger hills. Monday night we got some more snow. I am loving the snow!

This is really late really really late. For Karson's Birthday I took him to Mommy and Me bowling.
Karson bowled a 35 I know bowling is about form but Kars has style!

At the end of the game they announce your score I let Karson bowl on my turn and his and my score was only 45. We still got an applause from the older crowd waiting to bowl.

Kaden and I have been reading through the Junie B Jones series lately and we are really enjoying them together. We went to the Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! performance this week at the Dallas Children's Theater. After the show Kaden and Karson went around and got autographs from the actors. Karson likes to get a basket to carry around while we are at the store he thinks whatever he puts in the basket he is getting. Our trip usually ends with dissapointment because he choices are usually too sugary or filled with High Fructose Corn Syrup ( a ingredient Karson cannot have) . My little shopper.

This is old news but I am finally posting the pics. Before we moved I took Kaden and Karson to see Barney at the mall. Karson was excited but Kaden wanted to make sure I knew he was too old for Barney. I did notice him perk up when Barney came out and was saying hi to all the kids.

Kaden did stay strong and said he was too big to take a picture with Barney and offered to take pictures while I took Karson up to take a picture with Barney. He did a pretty good job!

Sprout TV gave us a free photo of the event. Karson gave Barney a high five and said Hi Barney. It was worth getting up early and waiting in a long line just to see Karson's face that day.

Kaden and Jace's school had a school night at Paradise Park. Since little kiddos already went last week Ronnin kept the little guys at home so I could take Kaden and Jace. We let the boys decide on one attraction and they ate for free! Jace and Kaden decided on the foam factory and a few tokens for games. The foam factory is a two story area with foam balls you can shoot with foam launchers (guns) and a huge thing in the middles that launches balls in the air so it rains hundreds of foam balls all over the place every hour. For the boys = fun, fun, and more fun.

After they ate they played some games and found a game that gave out tons of tickets. Jace gave Kaden some good advice we should stick with this game because more tickets means bigger prize. They both had over 100 tickets from 8 tokens and were able to get a slinky and rockstar glasses.

Kaden enjoyed the night he saw some class mates and even ran and gave his teacher a hug. His teacher told me how sweet he is and I found out she is a christian and is on a worship team. I was also able to tell her about our Church plant.

Kaden rode the bus home after school this week with Jace. I was so nervouse he would miss it and be waiting at school for me to pick him up. He made it home safely. He loved riding the bus but said it was bumpy.

Ronnin and I took Justus and Karson to a awesome kids place here in KC called Paradise Park. It was free to kids in the program Parent are Teachers Wednesday. I will honestly say it is the nicest kids place Ive seen in a while. On one side they have a learnig center for little kids w outside playground, a few story high playhouse, fishing and inside a water room, tv room, village with grocery store, pizza place and dress up area, cooking area where kids make real food and eat it, craft room and a tunnel room with ball pit (Karson's favorite) and more and on the other they have games, foam factory, bumper cars, and miniature golf.

The cooking area built with little kids in mind it even includes

little sinks for kids and its just their size.

Karson didsn't want to assemble his apple treat he wanted to eat everything individually like his Mommy would do.

Justus made his smiley his. Its called a toothy smile .I also learned an interesting fact when you cannot brush your teeth a apple is the next best thing.

This treat was easy. Two apple slices with a little whitecream and small marshmellows for teeth.

After all the fun we had to run to the store for a few things before the older boys got out of school Karson fell asleep while I shopped.

Kaden started school today. He was a little nervous about his new school but faced it like a champ this morning. Karson and I had lunch with him and he was excited about his day.

Tim and I are a part of a team planting a church in Westport MO. I'm very excited about this new adventure. Last week we packed up everything and moved from Garland Texas to Missouri. I am so excited about what God wants to do in Westport. We launch in November. Check out the church plant at creativecommunity.tv .

The boys and I made it a road trip. Traveling with a six year old means lots of pitstops along the way. First stop Steak and Shake with my little brother Nathan.

After lunch with Nathan the GPS was set on KC Missouri. We stoped in McAlester OK for some Mcdonalds for dinner.

And after many pit stops we arrived in KC Wednesday night.

We have been in KC almost a week and looking forward to being a part of a team that is going to do great things in Westport for God.

The Cake

With alot of encouragement and a very good recipe with great tips from my sister-in-law Ronnin I decided to make the cake for Kaden's party. I could have done much better but for my first cake I was happy with it. I'm planning on taking a beginners cake decorating class soon. It was a slow process but I really did enjoy it.

I made two cakes with a pound cake recipe. Pound cake is easier to cut. Then I outlined the guitar with a cake writer.

Once it was cut I put it back in the fridge to cool.

I even tinted the icing yellow!

Every detail on the cake was candy.

It was gone in a matter of minutes after this picture was taken.

PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR!

Right after Kaden's 5th birthday party Kaden announced for his sixth birthday he wanted a rockstar party. At that time it seemed so far away and its hard to believe its happened and already a memory. A great memory too!

Kaden's Birthday week started with a photo shoot. Our great friend's Rey and Debs did this for the Birthday guy.

Karson got into it too and started striking a pose.

Kaden started getting tired and worn out and it started going down hill. Kaden had been outside all day helping his Daddy and Papa build the stage.

Then he had a pep talk from Rey and Debs that rockstars don't cry and he had some poses left.

After the shoot the boys got to play on the playground.

On Saturday we had a rockstar party/concert for Kaden.

I have used this banner every year for Kaden since his 1st Birthday.

It's hard for me to believe my little guy is already six years old. It seems like yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital and I was in awe of what God had blessed us with. I am still in awe of you rockstar. You amaze me everyday with every new thing you learn. Your one talented little dude and I know God has something big planned for you. I love you so so much.

Six Flags

Last school year Kaden worked hard and read 360 minutes for the Six Flags reading program and recieved a free ticket. We could not let his hard work go to waste. It was a level orange heat advisory day. The good news is that on the rides we rode the lines were not long at all and the most we waited for a couple of popular rides was at the most 15 minutes. Taking the boys this year was one of my favorite things we have ever done as a family.

We started off the day with this ride!

Kaden's goal was to stay wet all day.

Kaden was mad he couldn't hop in the batmobile and just drive it.

We took a break and had a picnic.

I think Karson's favorite part of the day was feeding the ducks.

Last week my wonderful Mother- in-law also known as Grannie watched the boys so Tim and I could take a vacation. The boys had so much fun I do not even think they missed us. Thank you so much Grannie!

Our first stop was Longview for Jason and Natlie's wedding. It was beautiful and it was nice to see everybody. After the wedding we were on our way to Tennesee. We pulled an all nighter and by that I mean Tim drove and I slept. We arrived in Tennesee early the next morning. We had so much fun river rafting 2 days in a row, mountain biking, and hiking to a waterfall.

I cannot take credit for these pictures. They were taken by Lisa and I stole them from facebook with permission from her. I now know to pack disposables and actually take pictures on a trip with water and other kinds of activities that you shouldn't take a digital camera to.

With Kaden out of school for the summer and some extra free time I had a list of things I wanted to do.

School is going to start before I know it. I have to start planning to fit all this in 1 month. We have been going to the park and library every week but thats really it. I did get some pics of some summer fun.

Karson has been trying to climb this all summer by himself and keeps trying. I still have to assist at the top. Every time he gets to the top he says "I did it".

I have enjoyed Kaden being out of school this summer it has just been flying by and its almost time to go back. I plan to make the most of this last month together with a little free time we do not get during the school year.

The last day of school was field day. I had to miss it for staff devolopment for summer MDO. I am thankful Tim could go and he took some great pictures.

Karson will be happy to get back into a routine as well.

It's hard for me to believe that in a few short months Kaden will be a 1st grader.

The school had a graduation program for all the K5 classes.

PTF Picnic and Open House Night

FCA had a PTF (parent teacher fellowship) picnic and open house.

I cannot believe Kadens Kindergarten year is almost over. Our first stop was

It is important to me to have yearly traditions with the boys. Every year since Kaden was tiny we have painted eggs together and since Karson was born he has joined us. Up till this year Kaden enjoyed it but was reminded. This year he asked to do it. I was so excited he remembered and bought the biggest paint kit I could find and eggs. He helped me prepare everything while Karson napped. We boiled eggs and decided together to add vinigar for bright colors.

Easter

Easter Sunday started out stressful trying to get the boys and myself ready and out the door almost on time. While stressfully getting Karson ready Sunday morning Kaden reminded me that Easter is not about eggs, bunnies, and dressing up that its nice to do but thats not what its all about. Its about Jesus resurrection. My 5 yr. old reminded me what it's all about he is awesome. Karson threw a huge fit about the tie and vest but once he got some attention for looking so handsome he didn't want to take it off and actually threw another fit when I changed his cloths 2 year olds are fun!

I am the room mom for Kadens class this year. I have had fun helping out with the parties. The Easter party was the last one for the year. The class played a game, ate some goodies and then had an early release. I had to go back to my class till 2pm so Kaden got to hang out with Daddy for a couple of hours.

I decided it was time for some hair cuts. Kaden has graduation pictures tomorrow and with Easter this weekend it was time.

I had decided to get all of Karsons hair cut off and have a really short hair style for a while because he hates to have it fixed and has been walking around with bedhead for weeks. I wimped out and knew I would shed tears if I did so I just had it trimed.

Snow Days

When we moved to Garland in August Kaden asked me if it snows here. I told him I have lived in Texas my whole life and it doesn't snow very often. I can only remember it snowing once in Longview while we lived there. There is no way I could have predicted that this year would be a record snow year. I was very wrong and each time it has snowed Kaden says "I thought you said it doesn't snow here". I love snow and I'm happy to say I was wrong.

Kaden has a tummy bug. My goal today was to make him rest and keep him hydrated. We watched some movies this morning while he rested. Then Uncle Thomas and Aunt Appy came over after church. Uncle Thomas played Wii and watched Ninja Turtles with Kaden. This afternoon Kaden requested to play with his Lego's. Kaden made the masterpiece in the above photo. He is a awesome kiddo.

I am so thankful for Tim who got up at 3am to help clean up throw up and took this awesome picture. I am so blessed.

It has been a tough couple of weeks.

For about a year now I have had a lot of neck pain and a stiff neck off and on. I just thought it was because I carried around a 30 pound child or was sleeping wrong. My self diagnosis made sense to me. Around August right after we moved I started having weird symptoms with numbness, tingling, and burning on the left side of my head, around my neck and down my arm along with more neck problems. I went to the doctor after a few days and was told it was stress from moving and all the changes in my life that just happened. From August till a few weeks ago I just tried to ignore it and hoped it would go away since it was suppose to be stress. Tim encouraged me to see another doctor so I made the appointment. My new doctor was very concerned about my symptoms using the words cancer and tumor. I had some xrays and my doctor said she didn't like what she saw on them and used the words cancer and tumor again and scheduled a mri of my brain and c-spine and sent home to wait. I had my MRI on Monday. It was my first MRI and a very strange experience. After I was finished the tech said you should hear from your doctor in 24-48 hours. It was a tough wait. I got a call this afternoon that I am cancer free and tumor free. I was diagnosed with DDD Degenerative Disk Disease. The disk in my spine showed degeneration which is causing problems and damage to my nerves. I am being referred to a Orthopedic Surgeon for injections in my spine. I was so relieved I didn't have a tumor or cancer I got off the phone to tell Tim and then had a ton of questions. I am so relieved but also have a ton of questions.

Surgery

Last week I had to take Karson in for a sick visit. That day he in fact had another one. His new pediatrician looked at his history and wanted us to see an ENT Dr. ASAP. Friday Karson saw his ENT Dr. and he wanted Karson to have tubes ASAP. I know there was alot of ASAP's in the last few words but Monday was his 16th ear infection. Karson went in for surgery the next Wednesday morning.

Karson did so well. He was very droggy and floppy right after surgery but was back to his regular self the next day. During all of this Tim had the flu. We made it through!!!!!!

Rangers Game

A few weeks ago some our friend's took us to the Rangers game. Kaden loved hanging out with his friends and I enjoyed getting to know our new friends. The Rangers won too!

I forgot to bring a ponytail holder and the more humid it is the bigger my hair is.

Kaden is doing so well in school. I am so proud of him. I remember my first day of school and how scared I was. Kaden had a new school, new place to live, and a new church all at once. He is doing so well with the transition and learning so much in school. He goes to Spanish, Computer, Art, Music, and Library all in Kindergarten.
People told me that Kindergarten changes your life and they were right. As hard as it was to just sit and watch him go to school I have also been so very proud of him at the same time.

Operation Paci Update

Karson has been a full 24 hrs technically longer without a paci. Yay I'm staying strong. He has only asked for it once today and didn't cry when I offered him his cup instead. I am so happy it's going well.

I think it's funny when I have to tell people not to say the P word.

Quality Time

I have been spending alot of quality time with this little guy. It's just the two of us most days. At first when Kaden started school I could tell Karson missed his bother. He is getting into a routine now and enjoying all the toys. I think he also likes being the only child during the day too.
Karson is also feeling much better this week I can always tell when his antibiotic kicks in.
Since he is feeling better this week I started operation paci. Karson has had a paci his whole life he just fell in love with it and the paci thing has just gotten out of hand since we moved to Garland. I really didn't want to take it away with the transition of moving here but right after we moved he would ask for it all the time. I gave him a few weeks to get adjusted and not be in pain from an ear infection when I decided to take it away. Yesterday right after he woke up I took it and hid them. He only cried a little for it but did great yesterday afternoon and went to sleep without crying.

Birthday Weekend

It's hard to believe my first born is 5 and in kindergarten. We wanted to make his Birthday very special. Because he had to go to school that day he had a special Birthday ordered lunch at school and cookies with his class.

The party went well. Friday night parties are the way to go at Chuckie E Cheese. When we got home Tim and I let Kaden stay up AS LATE as he wanted. This was a first and Kaden was so excited about it. On Saturday I took the boys to the Firewheel Town Center. Really cool place I love that we live 5 min. from it. Kaden got to spend his giftcard at build-a-bear.

Moving Day

Two weeks ago today we moved from Longview to Garland Texas. We are just about settled in and almost unpacked. Kaden loves his new school and is handling all this transition like a trouper. Karson has been very cuddly and attached to his paci since the move but has also had an ear infection through it all. It's hard to believe we have been here 2 weeks.

Today we pack up a moving truck and will be leaving for Garland. It's been a very very busy week. Sunday LFA had a reception for us. I hugged and said goodbye to many people I have had the pleasure to get to know the last 5 years in Longview. We spent a few days in Garland getting all the last things settled there for the move plus Kaden's K-5 orientation for school. Wednesday night we came home. I packed and packed. Thursday ran a ton of errands and spent most of the day on the phone and enjoyed a night with our music team saying goodbye, ate some great food, hugged, and cried. Packed, packed, packed and now we are heading to Garland. We have a busy few days ahead of us. This Sunday is our first service and Monday is Kaden's first day of school and Friday is my little guys special day. Kaden is turning 5. I may be out for a few days but will be back soon.
