I found it

I looked and looked for a Lion costume for Karson and could not find one that I liked. I will admit I am very picky. I also looked at most of the animal costumes out there and most of them were very thick and since we live in Texas and the weather has been in the 80's I went with something else. I ordered it online a few days ago and it will be here next week. I will post a picture of Karson in it next week. The boys are going to look so cute.

The Fair

Today we are going to the State Fair of Texas.

Kaden is very excited about it. He told everyone last night in his class that he was seeing the biggest cowboy in the whole wide world.

A Real Mohawk

I took Kaden to get his hair cut today.

When he got into the chair Ms. Sheri asked him what he wanted done today. He looked at her with a serious look and said " I want a real mohawk". She then asked me if I was ok with his request.

I approved it.

When I gave my nod of approval Kaden looked at me with the biggest smile on his face and then said "Mommy I will be ok can you go wait in the waiting area with Karson?"
I went ahead and gave him his independence. I watched from afar as Kaden sat in the chair looking so big.

He is very protective of his mohawk. It rained today and he made sure it did not get wet. He also did not want anyone to touch it.

Wednesday - Preschool Book Review

This is another childhood favorite I found at the store a few weeks ago. It has also helped Kaden through his being scared of monsters stage. I am asked to read this just about everyday.

the MONSTER at the end of this Book

Grover does not want the reader to turn to the next page because there is a monster at the end of the book. He tries to tie the pages together and build a wall so you do not get to the end of the book. It ends up being Grover. It is a very interactive book.

I did read this is the best selling Sesame Street book of all time and I am going to order the sequel.

My Monday

This morning I went to get my hair done. It was much needed. I went dark with my hair and lost some inches. I just do not know what I think about it yet .

After I picked Kaden up from school I took the boys with me to try to find Karson a costume for the Lighthouse Adventure night. I keep thinking do I need to go through all this trouble he is so little and will not remember but I thought that with Kaden too his first year and I regret not doing anything. Also we will be going to 2 things this year one for Kadens school and the Lighthouse Adventure for our Church. Today I have two more stores and I am hoping to find the costume I have been looking for. This is really the only year I get to choose. Next year he will be telling me what he wants.

Last night we went to Chickfila for family night. By the way every Tuesday is family night at chickfila and kids eat free. This is Tim's hat from Happy the clown. Thanks Chris. It is still providing entertainment this morning for Kaden.

Vacation

We got home tonight from Branson. It was good but I am glad to be home.

Joe, Ronnin, Jace, and Justus came to visit. We went to the Landing for the day.

Yesterday we took a walk to the water. Kaden threw rocks into the water. Our walk and going to the park were Kaden's favorite parts of the trip.

My favorite things from our trip:

-Time with my family and having to be unplugged from everything.

-The weather.

-Eating lunch with Kaden on the patio.

-Pulled pork at the Rib Crib.

It was a good vacation and much needed.

Wednesday - Preschool Book Review

This week is another childhood favorite.

This book is about a baby bird that hatches as his mother goes to find him some food. The baby bird goes on a search for his mother. He comes upon some animals, a boat, and a Excavator and asks them all "Are you my mother?" In the end he finds his mother. This book is a cute read and makes Kaden laugh everytime.

Family Portrait

Just a few weeks ago when Kaden would draw a picture it would just look like scribble. But yesterday he asked for some paper and he came back with this.

He said it is our family.

Vacation

This morning we are leaving for our vacation. Tim did a very good job on his blog showing where we are going. Check it out. Thank you Jason and Meredith for helping make this happen for us.

I spent all day getting things tied up at home and in the nursery and also packing and getting everything done at the house as well. Lets just say I did not get to bed until late late late.

I did not tell Kaden till today about our trip because he loves to travel and I knew he would be ready to pack up and go right then. Last night he got his suitcase out and packed it and rolled it in to me to show me his accomplishment.

His packing job including:

- Toothbrush and Paste
- Ear Plugs - I was surprised he remembered these. I know he doesn't like to wear them but he is so good about it.
- Underwear
- 1 outfit -- including dirty socks and hat
- shoes
- DVDs
- Books
- Flashlight
- Remote
- cars and action figures
and Coco.
I think he did great job.
