Wednesday - Preschool Book Review

This is a book Karsee got for Christmas from his Aunt Appy and Uncle Thomas. This is a good book for a 1 year old. It is a great way to teach your baby about the baby animals around them with realistic pictures. With the touch and feel design your baby will love to touch the puppies soft ears or a turtles shell. For under $7.00 you can purchase any Touch and Feel book in this series.

On our way home yesterday while driving accross a bridge we could see the rain in the distance. It was a sight. I snapped a picture to try to capture it while the car was going and it actually was good.

Lego's

Kaden has a new love. On Christmas day Kaden played with Lego's for hours with his cousins. We went to Walmart tonight and picked him up a set with his Christmas money.

I Love This Post

I read this post a few days ago and loved it and then I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach because it is so true in my experience in the nursery this year.

If you work in Children's Ministry you should follow this blog.

Merry Christmas

We spent Christmas at Pawpaw and Grannies house.

Justus and Kaden were really excited.
Look at those blue eyes.
Thank you Pawpaw and Grannie for making it a great day!

Christmas Eve

We went to my Dad's and then to my Pawpaw and Nannies house for Christmas Eve.

This excited look was on his face for more than an hour.

We enjoyed our time with Parents, Grandparents, and cousins. We also had our annual Elam tissue and wrapping paper fight.

Wednesday - Preschool Book Review

It is very important to me to teach my kids the true meaning of Christmas. Here are a few that I read to the boys. You can never start to early.

This is one Karsee picked out at Grannies book fair.
When he saw it he held on to it for the rest of the time we were there.
He also made sure he got it by chewing on it.
This cute little book cover plays the tune Silent Night and lights up.
It is a simple way to tell the true meaning of Christmas to little ears.
This is a book with good illustrations and is the animals view of the first Christmas.

With illustrations by Thomas Kinkade and the words of Away in a Manger.
It is a great book about the story of why we celebrate Christmas.

Traditions - Picture Ornaments

I have been wanting to start a tradition since Kaden's first Christmas. I have a great picture from each year of my boys to make an ornament, but had not actually put them together till this year.

Here are my favorites.

Kaden's first Christmas

Karson's first Christmas
Kaden's second Christmas

This year

I hope to do this every year.

Blogging - Finally

I have been bad this week about blogging. I missed Good Find Friday.

I can say I have one more gift to buy and I am done. Now I just have to wrap them.

Today Grannie watched the boys so Tim and I could eat lunch and do some shopping.

Thank you Grannie

Traditions - Christmas Lights

For the past few years the week before Christmas we go out to eat somewhere, get Starbucks, and drive around and look at lights.

It's simple and nice. It is becoming a tradition.

Wednesday - Preschool Book Review

'Twas the night before the night before Christmas,
When everything goes wrong and Mom is sick with the flu it looks like everything will not be done and everything is going wrong before Christmas.
In the end the family is reminded these things are just stuff.
Christmas is about love.
And we all have quite enough.
This year when my side of the family like many others are not doing as much and celebrating a little differently this book even reminded me what Christmas is all about.

I like to follow this book with the last. It is one of my favorites.

Please Pray

Please pray for our friend Maria. She is expecting a baby and in a sonogram they found to much fluid on the babies brain. They are going to be doing a level 2 sonogram on the 18th. Please keep her and her little baby boy in your prayers.

Our Christmas Program

This morning Super Sheep reluctantly joined the Christmas program. I am proud of him for facing his fears. He may not have participated 100% in the program but I am so happy he went up there.

This morning Tim played his acoustic.
He also sang Bethlehem Calls and did a great job.
He is very talented and annointed and I do not get to hear him as much as I would like
since I am in the nursery most Sunday's.

My favorite part of our program is when the angel forgot her words and said "Oh Crap".

SUPER LAMB MAY JOIN HIS FLOCK TOMORROW

Kaden is a lamb in our Christmas program. This morning when it was time to get ready Kaden decided he did not want to put his costume on. I did eventually get him to wear it but when we got to practice he refused to be a part of the program.

This afternoon when Tim came home he told Kaden about super sheep. Kaden has agreed to be super sheep tomorrow for the program. So tonight I am making him a little cape out of some left over white fleece.

Our program tomorrow will include Super Sheep...... Maybe

Good Find Friday - 100 Calorie Gingerbread Cookies

These little cookies are so good and are only 100 calories. Kaden and Karson love them and I have had to buy them in bulk because we have been going through them so fast.
I also love the Christmas Tree Cakes.

When all else fails call in an expert.

For the past few days I have been trying to get a good picture of my boys to send on our Christmas card. The problem is I am trying to top last years. So today I called a friend that is a photographer and thankfully she can help us at the last minute.

This is last years picture.

Here is what I have to work with this year.

We Need To Talk.

Tonight when we got home from church and everything settled down Kaden sat down by me and with the cutest voice said " Mommy we need to talk". This is how our conversation went.

Kaden: "Why was baby Jesus born in a stable with all the animals, why didn't his mommy just go to a hotel"?

Me: "Mommies do not know when there babies will be born and when Mary and Joseph tried to go to a hotel which was a inn back then they were all full so they had to go to a barn".

Kaden: Corrected me and informed me it was not a barn but a stable.

Me: " A stable is like a barn."

Kaden: "Why did they put him in the hay"?

Me: "They did not have a baby bed like we have for Karson so they had to gather hay and put it in a manger for baby Jesus to be comfortable".

Kaden: "Why did Mary and Joseph live in a barn"?

Me: "Mary and Joseph were just visiting Bethlehem, they had a home".

Kaden: "Did they have to put the manger with baby Jesus in it on the donkey because he does not come out"

This is when he held up the baby Jesus in our nativity scene.

I will never forget this Mommy Moment.

Please Pray

My Grandma (Nanny) lost her brother yesterday. He lived in California and I only met him a few times. The hardest part of this news is she lost her other brother only a few months ago. Two in only a few months has been hard her.

Merry Christmas

I was wore out by the time Tim got home yesterday. I think I called him at 5 and asked him why he was so late. Sorry Tim.

Karson is feeling much better but my boys are fighting over stuff. Its not all Kaden and its not all Karson. Karson wants everything Kaden has exspecially food. I gave Kaden a juice box yesterday and Karson crawled over and tried to pry it out of Kadens hand and when I went to get him he threw himself on the floor and cried and cried. I went to the kitchen and got him one and thought I would help him with it and when I tried to give it to him he wanted to do it himself and we ended up with a puddle of apple juice on the floor. After that I just put it in a sippy cup and gave it to him. He was not happy about it but came around to it after a few minutes.

Last night Karsons little people set came in and I opened it for them to play with. Kaden kept taking things away from Karson.

Karson also realized that the Christmas presents under the tree were fun to play with yesterday. I was on damage control most of the day.

This is a new stage of Motherhood for me and I am trying to handle it well but I always feel like I am picking on one of them.Karson is very tender hearted and if he even hears no he barres his head and cries and Kaden is a little stronger and gets a little rough sometimes. I also thought I had a little more time like when Karson is two before I had to tackle these things.

Traditions - Gingerbread House

Kaden and I made a gingerbread house last night. Kaden did very well until he started wanting to eat all the candy and was just happy sitting back while I finished.
This was the easiest kit I have ever used

Karson stayed busy with some kitchen items

Karson is sick.

I got Karson in to see a doctor this weekend. I can honestly say this is the sickest I have seen him. The hardest part is just keeping the fever down. He is on some Medicine for 10 days.

Karson has had a hard month with his viral rash on his face and neck, stomach virus, and now this.

How do you eat your cake?

1st Birthday

Karson's Birthday started when he woke up at 1am with a fever and not feeling well. He finally went back to sleep around 5am.

He was not feeling well today but was acting better by this afternoon. He did well during his party but started running fever again tonight.
